Diploma in Intelligent Alerting and Analytics SLO/SLA
Online postgraduate diploma of 800 hours in intelligent alerting and analytics SLOs/SLAs. 8 modules covering reliability of analytical systems, SLI and SLO definition, telemetry, symptom-based and ML-driven alerting, incident management and SLAs, with an assigned technical tutor.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Apply SRE principles to analytics and data services.
Define meaningful SLIs and SLOs with an error budget.
Instrument pipelines and models with standard telemetry.
Design actionable alerts based on symptoms and burn rate.
Apply anomaly detection to reduce alert fatigue.
Manage incidents and learn from them through post-mortems.
Translate internal SLOs into governed contractual SLAs.
Who it's for
- Site reliability engineers (SRE) extending their practice to data and analytics services.
- Observability engineers building metrics, traces and alerting stacks.
- Data engineers responsible for the freshness and accuracy of their pipelines.

How you'll learn
Training is 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so the programme fits around your job.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Prometheus and Alertmanager, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, PagerDuty and Sloth, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: defining SLOs with an error budget, configuring multi-window burn rate alerts, and incident drills with post-mortems. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final capstone project.
Standards covered: OpenSLO 1.0, OpenTelemetry Specification, ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ITIL 4, ISO 22301:2019.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
