Turbochargers in Off-Road Machinery Course
Online 300-hour course in turbochargers in Off-Road machinery. 6 modules covering Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 (non-road mobile machinery engines, Stage V), SAE J1826 (turbocharger testing on gas bench) and GT-SUITE. Assigned tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Explain the thermodynamic operation of supercharging in diesel engines for machinery.
Identify the turbocharger components and their lubrication and cooling systems.
Relate common failure modes to their root causes.
Apply a systematic diagnostic procedure using pressure and temperature measurement.
Plan the replacement or repair of the turbocharger using technical and economic criteria.
Interpret Stage V emission requirements in relation to supercharging.
Design a failure prevention plan based on good operating practices.

How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it compatible with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is GT-SUITE, Jaltest Diagnostics, MATLAB/Simulink, Cat SIS / Cat ET, Advanced Excel, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real diesel engine test bench procedures, inspection of clearances and rotor imbalance, and laboratory oil analysis. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
