How you'll learn
A 100% online programme on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the enrolment period, which makes it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Sphera PHA-Pro, exida exSILentia, Primatech PHAWorks, Isograph Reliability Workbench, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practice covers real HAZOP session procedures on a real P&ID, LOPA analysis of critical scenarios and verification of PFDavg calculations. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Identify process hazards using systematic techniques.
Lead and document HAZOP sessions in accordance with IEC 61882.
Apply LOPA to determine the risk reduction required.
Specify safety instrumented systems in accordance with IEC 61511.
Design control architectures with defence in depth.
