Occupational Safety Course in Deep Excavations
Online course of 300 hours in Occupational Safety in Deep Excavations: 6 modules covering hazards in deep excavations, the legal framework for prevention, collective protection measures, machinery and special works, and geotechnical control and emergencies, with an assigned technical tutor.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Identify the characteristic hazards of deep excavations.
Apply Spanish prevention legislation to construction works.
Design suitable collective protection measures.
Establish safe procedures for machinery and special works.
Link geotechnical control with accident prevention.
Plan the emergency response in excavations.
Prepare a safety plan for a deep excavation.

How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so it can be combined with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Presto, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, GEO5 and PLAXIS 2D, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Cases are studied on real procedures for risk assessment in deep shafts and trenches, shoring design and emergency plans for urban excavations. Assessment is continuous by module plus the final integrated project.
Standards covered: Ley 31/1995; Real Decreto 1627/1997; Real Decreto 39/1997; UNE-EN 13331-1; Real Decreto 1215/1997; Real Decreto 773/1997; Ley 32/2006; Real Decreto 1154/2020.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
