Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

Delivered 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so the programme fits around full-time work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standards and applied exercises. The working software is Wireshark, asn1tools (Python), Vanetza, ns-3 and MATLAB, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: message conformance testing, interoperability plugtest events and comparative analysis of regional profiles. Assessment is continuous by module, plus a final capstone project.

Standards covered: ETSI EN 302 665; SAE J2735; IEEE 1609.2; ETSI TS 103 097; 3GPP TS 23.285; ISO 21217; UNECE Regulation No. 155; UNECE Regulation No. 156.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of ETSI EN 302 665, SAE J2735 and IEEE 1609.2 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Wireshark, asn1tools (Python), Vanetza, ns-3 and MATLAB, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:a multi-region V2X interoperability proposal, from the regulatory gap analysis and gateway architecture to the trust model, conformance test plan and migration roadmap, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
Capstone project

Build it end to end

Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Scenario and gap analysis
Define a multi-region reference scenario and analyse the regulatory gaps.
Gateway and profile architecture
Design the gateways and message profiles that bridge the regions.
Trust model
Propose a cross-region trust and certificate model.
Testing and migration
Draw up the conformance test plan and the migration roadmap.
Final project
Present the complete interoperability proposal with governance and risk analysis, reviewed by your tutor.

A SEIUM Institute certificate, awarded on passing the continuous assessment and the final project. It is SEIUM's own qualification, not an official state degree; its recognition depends on the programme completed and the regulations of each country.

Yes. Modules passed are recognised in a higher programme in the same area (postgraduate diploma or master's). Ask about the recognition policy when you enrol.

No prior qualification is required: you only need an internet connection, a computer capable of running the programme's software and English sufficient to read technical standards.

Start dates are set by SEIUM's faculty for each intake. Our admissions team will confirm the next available date when you apply.
