Master’s in Commercial, Product & Experience Engineering — studying from Australia

Technology-driven organisations in Australia need professionals who combine engineering knowledge with business management, project governance and policy understanding. Sectors such as mining, energy, infrastructure and defence rely on technical managers who can translate complex engineering decisions into investment and regulatory terms. Government departments, industry bodies and consultancies in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne actively shape technology policy, including innovation, digital transformation and critical technologies. Graduates often move into programme management, consulting or strategy roles within large engineering-intensive organisations.

Fees for Australia: A$12,600 (AUD), with instalments and employer sponsorship available.

Relevant bodies in Australia

  • Department of Industry, Science and Resources
  • Australian Industry Group (Ai Group)
  • Engineers Australia
  • Business Council of Australia (BCA)

Typical roles

  • Engineering Programme Manager
  • Technology Policy Adviser
  • Technical Consultant
  • Innovation Manager

Questions from Australia

Which Australian bodies relate to engineering management and technology policy?

Engineers Australia is the main professional body and offers pathways for engineering managers, while the Australian Institute of Company Directors and CPA Australia cover management and governance. SEIUM's private qualifications are not accredited by any of these bodies. Recognition is decided by employers or the relevant body, so verify it before enrolling.

What roles in Australia could this qualification support?

Engineering management, technology policy, and project leadership roles exist across government, utilities, consultancies and industry. Employers generally weigh your experience and leadership record heavily. A SEIUM qualification may add to your profile, but its acceptance depends on each employer.

Can I study this from Australia without a visa and with a job?

Yes, the programmes are fully online and in English, so you can study from Australia with no student visa required. Plan around 300 to 1,900 hours depending on the programme, and note an assigned technical tutor and a final project are included. Fees can be paid in instalments, and employer sponsorship may be possible.

Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

A 100% online programme on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so the programme fits around your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics 4, Qualtrics and Figma, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: user research and proof of concept, a price sensitivity study and designing a customer journey map. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final Master's Thesis.

Standards covered: ISO 9241-210:2019, ISO 10002:2018, Regulation (EU) 2023/988, Directive (EU) 2019/882, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Directive 2005/29/EC, ISO 23592:2021, Directive (EU) 2019/771.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of ISO 9241-210, ISO 10002, the General Product Safety Regulation and the GDPR applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics 4, Qualtrics and Figma, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Master's Thesis with defence:a complete go-to-market plan for a technology product or service, from user research to economic viability, defended before a panel.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
