Course on KPIs and Metrics in Smart Ports — studying from the United States
Naval and offshore engineering in the United States is concentrated in Virginia, Maine, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Shipbuilders such as HII (Huntington Ingalls Industries) and General Dynamics Electric Boat design and construct naval vessels, while offshore energy firms develop platforms and subsea systems. The recreational marine sector, including boat builders in Florida and the Carolinas, adds demand for hull, propulsion and marine systems expertise. Classification societies and government regulators set rigorous standards for safety and performance.
Fees for the United States: 830 US$ (US Dollars), with instalments and employer sponsorship available.

Questions from the United States
Will this help me become a licensed Professional Engineer?
SEIUM programmes do not replace the education, examination and experience requirements set by state licensing boards. They can support your professional development, but licensure requirements must be confirmed directly with your state board.
Are SEIUM qualifications accredited in the United States?
SEIUM qualifications are private qualifications and are not official state degrees or accredited higher education awards. Please check with the relevant employer or licensing board about how any credential will be viewed for your purposes.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Design indicator systems aligned with port strategy.
Calculate operational indicators for quay, yard and gate.
Integrate economic, environmental and social indicators.
Structure the data architecture that feeds the indicators.
Build dashboards that support decision-making.
Compare performance against international benchmarks.
Propose a complete indicator system for a port.

How you'll learn
Training 100 % online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine the course with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, Grafana, Python with pandas, in free, academic or evaluation versions. The practice work is based on real procedures for designing indicator systems for port authorities, building operational dashboards and benchmarking productivity between terminals. Assessment is continuous per module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Design indicator systems aligned with port strategy.
Calculate operational indicators for quay, yard and gate.
Integrate economic, environmental and social indicators.
Structure the data architecture that feeds the indicators.
Build dashboards that support decision-making.
Where this takes you
