Course in Regulatory Data Governance in the Automotive Industry — studying from the United States

Regulatory affairs, safety engineering and homologation are essential across American industries, since products must meet federal and state requirements before reaching the market. Engineers in this field work on reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) analysis, certification and conformity assessment. Sectors such as aerospace, automotive, medical devices and energy all require specialized compliance expertise. Standards organizations and government agencies define the frameworks that guide this work.

Fees for the United States: 610 US$ (US Dollars), with instalments and employer sponsorship available.

Relevant bodies in the United States

  • National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
  • Underwriters Laboratories (UL Solutions)
  • ASTM International
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ)

Typical roles

  • Regulatory Affairs Engineer
  • Safety Engineer
  • RAMS Engineer
  • Homologation and Certification Engineer

Questions from the United States

Are SEIUM qualifications accredited in the United States?

SEIUM qualifications are private qualifications and are not official state degrees or accredited higher education awards. Please check with the relevant employer or licensing board about how any credential will be viewed for your purposes.

Will this help me become a licensed Professional Engineer?

SEIUM programmes do not replace the education, examination and experience requirements set by state licensing boards. They can support your professional development, but licensure requirements must be confirmed directly with your state board.

Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it easy to combine with work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The software used is Collibra, Microsoft Purview, SQL, Python (pandas), Power BI, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Case studies are based on real procedures from data lineage audits, data protection impact assessments and review of approval-file data. Assessment is continuous per module, plus a final integrative project.

Accreditable laboratories(EN ISO/IEC 17025) with a rotor rig, EMC/Lightning pre-compliance, HIL/SIL, vibration/acoustics.
Evidence-focused Master's Thesis:safety case, test plan, compliance dossier and operational limits.
Industry mentorship:lecturers with a track record in training, , eVTOL/UAM and flight test.
Flexible format(hybrid/online), international cohorts and support from SEIUM Career Services.
Ethics and safety:a safety-by-design approach, with OT cybersecurity, DIH and compliance as its pillars.
