How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so it can be combined with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Wireshark, linuxptp, Linux tc (taprio), OMNeT++ with INET and Siemens TIA Portal, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Testing is studied on real procedures: gPTP synchronisation with hardware timestamping, Time-Aware Shaper configuration and simulation of deterministic networks. Assessment is continuous by module plus the final project.
Standards covered: IEEE 802.1AS-2020, IEEE 802.1Qbv-2015, IEC/IEEE 60802, IEEE 802.1Qcc-2018, IEEE 802.1CB-2017, IEEE 802.1Qci-2017, IEEE 802.3br-2016, IEC 62443-3-3:2013.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
