Postgraduate Diploma in EMR/EHR Integration and Clinical Workflows — studying from Singapore
Singapore's healthcare and medtech sectors are supported by the Health Sciences Authority, which regulates medical devices, and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, which funds biomedical research. Engineers work on medical device design, biomechanics, wearable sensors and occupational safety systems. The Ministry of Manpower oversees workplace safety standards. Employers include medical device manufacturers, hospitals and research institutes in the one-north and Biopolis precincts.
Fees for Singapore: S$2,560 (Singapore dollar), with instalments and employer sponsorship available.

Questions from Singapore
Will this qualification be recognised by professional bodies in Singapore?
SEIUM's qualifications are private qualifications, not official state degrees, and they are not accredited by any national body in Singapore. Professional engineering registration in Singapore is handled through the Professional Engineers Board (PEB), which registers Professional Engineers under the Professional Engineers Act. Recognition of a private qualification is ultimately decided by employers or the relevant body, so check with them before enrolling.
How might this training be used by employers in Singapore?
Employers in Singapore's healthtech, medical device, wearables and workplace safety sectors may value specialist skills in biomechanics and operational safety. Whether they count an online private qualification toward a role is up to each employer. Many firms look at portfolios, project work and experience alongside any certificate, so the final project can be a useful piece of evidence to show them.
Can I study this alongside a full-time job, and can my employer help fund it?
The programme is 100% online and taught in English, so it suits working professionals, though the workload is significant: master's programmes are 1,900 hours, postgraduate diplomas 800 hours and specialist courses 300 hours. Fees can be paid in instalments, and employer sponsorship is possible. Many Singapore employers fund job-related training, so it is worth asking your HR or training department early.

How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake period, which makes it possible to combine the programme with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Mirth Connect, HAPI FHIR, InterSystems HealthShare, Postman, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied through real integration testing procedures in a pre-production environment, validation of HL7 messages and FHIR resources, and usability testing with clinical professionals. Assessment is continuous across each module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Describe the architecture of EMR/EHR systems.
Apply the HL7, FHIR and DICOM standards to integration cases.
Model clinical workflows and their information exchange points.
Integrate medical devices with the electronic health record.
Configure an integration engine to route and transform messages.
