How you'll learn

Training is 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so you can combine it with your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Altair HyperWorks, Ansys Composite PrepPost, Fibersim and eLamX, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: tensile testing of laminate specimens, drop-weight impact testing and ultrasonic inspection of a delaminated panel. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final integrating project.

Standards covered: FAA AC 20-107B Composite Aircraft Structure; CMH-17 Composite Materials Handbook; EASA CS-25.603 and CS-25.613 Materials and design properties; ASTM D3039 Tensile Properties of Polymer Matrix Composite Materials; ASTM D7136 Damage Resistance of a Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Matrix Composite to a Drop-Weight Impact Event; ASTM D5528 Mode I Interlaminar Fracture Toughness; ISO 14125 Determination of flexural properties of fibre-reinforced plastic composites.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of FAA AC 20-107B, CMH-17 and EASA CS-25.603 and CS-25.613 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Altair HyperWorks, Ansys Composite PrepPost, Fibersim and eLamX, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:the design of a simple composite aircraft component, from loads and laminate design to manufacturing, testing and certification, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
