How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is STAR-CCM+, NAPA Voyage Optimization, Python (pandas), MATLAB, Power BI, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures for towing-tank self-propulsion tests, sea trials before and after installing an ESD, and analysis of in-service performance data. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Analyse the ship's energy balance and identify losses.
Classify energy-saving devices according to their operating principle.
Assess the hydrodynamic performance of an ESD using CFD and tests.
Optimise trim and operational parameters.
Apply weather routing optimisation.
