How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Orthanc, dcm4chee, OHIF Viewer, 3D Slicer, Python (pydicom), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Case studies are based on real PACS deployment procedures in a test environment, RIS-PACS integration with HL7 messages, and workflow analysis in radiology departments. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Describe the fundamentals of digital medical imaging.
Interpret the structure of DICOM objects and services.
Design scalable and redundant PACS architectures.
Integrate PACS with RIS and HIS using HL7 and IHE profiles.
Optimise the workflows of a radiology department.
