How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it compatible with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is MATLAB/Simulink, Python with NumPy and CasADi, OptimumLap, ChassisSim, IPG CarMaker, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real lap-simulation procedures on circuits of different types, correlation with telemetry data from a flying lap, and set-up sensitivity studies prior to the event. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Formulate point-mass models to estimate lap time.
Build g-g-V diagrams from vehicle parameters.
Implement a 3DOF model with load transfer and tyre.
Solve minimum-time trajectory problems with optimal control.
Correlate simulated results with real telemetry.
