Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

Training is 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so it fits around your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is AEDT, AirTOp, CAST, SIMMOD and ArcGIS, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Testing is studied through real procedures: runway system capacity calculation, traffic forecasting and facility sizing, and evaluation of airport expansion alternatives. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.

Standards covered: ICAO Doc 9184 (Airport Planning Manual), ICAO Annex 14 Volume I, ICAO Doc 9829 (Balanced Approach), Regulation (EU) 598/2014, Regulation (EU) 139/2014, Directive 2011/92/EU on environmental impact assessment, Regulation (EEC) 95/93 on slot allocation.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of ICAO Doc 9184, ICAO Annex 14 and ICAO Doc 9829 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:AEDT, AirTOp, CAST, SIMMOD and ArcGIS, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:A complete airport master plan, from diagnosis and demand forecast to capacity analysis, alternatives and phased investment programme, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
