Noise reduction course in cabins
Online course of 300 hours in cabin noise reduction: 6 modules covering applied cabin acoustics, cabin noise sources, sound transmission through the fuselage, passive treatments, and active control and testing, with an assigned technical tutor.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Apply acoustics concepts to the aircraft cabin.
Identify the dominant noise sources in the cabin.
Model sound transmission through the fuselage.
Select passive acoustic treatments.
Assess active noise control techniques.
Plan interior noise measurements in line with standards.
Propose weight-optimised noise reduction solutions.
Who it's for
- Aeronautical acoustics engineers seeking a complete cabin noise methodology.
- Vibro-acoustics engineers applying modelling and testing to aircraft interiors.
- Cabin interiors engineers who need to integrate acoustic treatments.
- Acoustic test technicians carrying out ground and flight measurements.

How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so it fits around your job.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Siemens Simcenter Testlab, VA One (ESI), Actran, MATLAB and Brüel & Kjær PULSE, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Testing is studied through real procedures: in-flight interior noise measurement, vibro-acoustic modelling of a panel and selection of acoustic treatments. Assessment is continuous by module plus the final integrative project.
Standards covered: ISO 5129, Directive 2003/10/EC, Royal Decree 286/2006, ISO 9612, IEC 61672-1, CS 25.853 (EASA), RTCA DO-160G.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
