Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

The programme is 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so you can combine it with your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is AkzoNobel MIXIT, PPG PaintManager, X-Rite Color iQC and Adobe Lightroom, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Testing is studied through real procedures: spectrophotometric colour measurement, cross-cut adhesion tests and stratigraphic analysis of paint layers. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final Master's Thesis.

Standards covered: Directive 2004/42/EC, ISO 2409, ISO 2813, ISO 2808, ISO 11664-4, ISO 4628, Real Decreto 227/2006, FIVA Turin Charter.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of Directive 2004/42/EC, ISO 2409 and ISO 2813 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:AkzoNobel MIXIT, PPG PaintManager, X-Rite Color iQC and Adobe Lightroom, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Master's Thesis with defence:a documented historic refinishing of a vehicle, from original-finish research to quality testing, defended before a panel.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
