Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

Delivered 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable materials, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so you can combine the programme with your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original legislation and applied exercises. You work with TIMES, COPERT, VECTO, LEAP and Python in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: building abatement cost curves, calculating fleet emissions with COPERT and evaluating a decarbonisation policy. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final Master's Thesis.

Standards covered: Regulation (EU) 2021/1119, Regulation (EU) 2019/631, Law 7/2021, Directive (EU) 2023/2413, Regulation (EU) 2023/2405, Regulation (EU) 2023/1805, Directive (EU) 2023/959, Regulation (EU) 2019/1242.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of Regulation (EU) 2021/1119 (European Climate Law), Regulation (EU) 2019/631 and Law 7/2021 on climate change and energy transition applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:TIMES, COPERT, VECTO, LEAP and Python, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Master's Thesis with defence:A transport decarbonisation policy proposal, from emissions diagnosis and scenario design to the evaluation and distributional analysis of measures, defended before a panel.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.

Regulatory review
Review the European and national regulatory framework that applies.
Scenario design
Build decarbonisation scenarios with energy and emissions models.
Evaluation of measures
Evaluate measures by abatement cost and analyse their distributional effects.
Master's Thesis
