Master’s in Premium Interiors & Craftsmanship — studying from India

India's manufacturing base spans steel, chemicals, automotive components, pharmaceuticals and capital goods, with industrial clusters in Pune, Chennai, Coimbatore, Vadodara and Jamshedpur. Major employers include Tata Steel, JSW Steel and Larsen & Toubro, alongside a large network of small and medium manufacturers. Quality assurance follows Bureau of Indian Standards norms and the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories. The Quality Council of India promotes quality management practices. Engineers in this area focus on materials selection, process optimisation, production engineering and quality control.

Fees for India: ₹628,000 (Indian Rupee), with instalments and employer sponsorship available.

Relevant bodies in India

  • Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)
  • National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL)
  • Quality Council of India (QCI)
  • Indian Institute of Metals (IIM)

Typical roles

  • Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Manufacturing Engineer
  • Materials Engineer
  • Process Improvement Engineer

Questions from India

Which Indian standards and bodies matter for materials and quality professionals?

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) sets national standards, and the Quality Council of India is widely referred to in quality management. SEIUM's qualification is a private one, not an official degree, and it is not accredited by a national body. Whether it counts for a role is decided by the employer, so it is worth confirming with them first.

Which employers in India work in manufacturing and quality engineering?

Automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical, steel, and general manufacturing companies all employ materials and quality engineers. Recruitment depends on the employer's requirements, such as experience with quality systems and certifications they recognise. The qualification may support your application, but it does not guarantee any position or salary level.

Can I manage this course with a job and in my time zone in India?

The course is online and taught in English, so no visa or relocation is needed and you can study from any Indian city. Because it is online and tutor-supported, you can plan study around your working hours. Check the workload for your chosen programme length, and ask whether your employer can sponsor the fees, since instalments are also available.

Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, making it compatible with work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Autodesk Alias, Rhinoceros 3D, CATIA, Adobe Substance 3D and KeyShot, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Cases are studied on real procedures: ageing and UV light tests, perceived quality audits, and abrasion and emission tests. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final Master's Thesis.

Standards covered: FMVSS 302, ISO 3795, VDA 270, VDA 278, Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH), ISO 105-B06, ISO 12947-2, 14 CFR 25.853.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of FMVSS 302, ISO 3795 and VDA 270 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Autodesk Alias, Rhinoceros 3D, CATIA, Adobe Substance 3D and KeyShot, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Master's Thesis with defence:a complete premium interior concept, from user research and material selection to prototype, quality testing and production plan, defended before a panel.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
