Diploma in OTA Operation and Capacity Management — studying from Ireland
Ireland's technology and medical device sectors depend on strong product design and user experience capabilities, particularly in Dublin, Cork and Galway. Multinational software companies, medical technology firms and design consultancies employ product designers, interaction designers and human-machine interface specialists. Engineers in this area combine usability research, prototyping and engineering constraints to deliver products that meet both market and regulatory expectations. Professional practice is supported by national design and engineering bodies, with medical product work often guided by European and national regulatory frameworks.
Fees for Ireland: €1,790 (Euro), with instalments and employer sponsorship available.

Questions from Ireland
Is there an Irish professional body for design and HMI engineering?
Ireland's design profession is represented by bodies such as the Irish Design Association, while engineering registration runs through Engineers Ireland. There is no statutory licence for HMI or product design. SEIUM's qualifications are private and not accredited by any national body, so recognition is for employers and the relevant professional bodies to decide, and you should confirm this with them.
Do Irish product and design employers value private online study in HMI?
Irish product, medtech and software design employers generally focus on portfolios, user research experience and practical outcomes. A private online qualification may help your profile, but its weight is at each employer's discretion. We cannot guarantee employment or recognition, so present your portfolio strongly alongside any study.
How much time does this need and do I need to be fluent in English?
The programme is 100% online and taught in English, so good English for reading, writing and presenting is essential. There is no need for a visa to study from Ireland. Master's programmes total 1,900 hours, postgraduate diplomas 800 and specialist courses 300. An assigned technical tutor supports you, fees can be paid in instalments, and employer sponsorship may be possible.

How you'll learn
Training is 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so it can be combined with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Eclipse hawkBit, Mender, AWS IoT Device Management and Vector CANoe, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Testing is studied through real procedures for operating update campaigns on pilot fleets, update and interruption testing on HIL benches, and compliance audits of software update management systems. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.
Standards covered: UNECE Regulation No. 156, ISO 24089, UNECE Regulation No. 155, ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 26262, IEEE-ISTO 6100.1 (Uptane Standard), ISO/IEC 27001
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
