Euro NCAP Frontal and Side Impact Testing Course
Online course of 300 hours in Euro NCAP frontal and side impact testing. 6 modules covering biomechanics and occupant protection, dummies and test instrumentation, frontal impact tests (MPDB, full width), side impact tests (AE-MDB, pole), and crash simulation and optimisation, with an assigned technical tutor.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.

How you'll learn
100% online study on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so the programme fits around your job.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original protocols and applied exercises. The working software is LS-DYNA, Altair HyperWorks, ESI Virtual Performance Solution, NI DIAdem and MADYMO, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practical work is based on real procedures: frontal impact tests with a mobile barrier, side pole impact tests and correlation of crash models with physical tests. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final project.
Standards covered: Euro NCAP MPDB Protocol; Euro NCAP Side Impact Protocol (AE-MDB and pole); Euro NCAP Full Width Rigid Barrier Protocol; UN Regulation No. 94 (UN R94); UN Regulation No. 95 (UN R95); UN Regulation No. 137 (UN R137); UN Regulation No. 135 (UN R135); SAE J211-1.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
