Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

Training is 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so the programme fits around your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is EnergyPlus, PVsyst, Schneider EcoStruxure, RETScreen and Microsoft Power BI, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures for a terminal energy audit, sizing of airport PV generation and a savings measurement and verification plan. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.

Standards covered: ISO 50001; Directive (EU) 2023/1791; Royal Decree 56/2016; Royal Decree 390/2021; Royal Decree 244/2019; Regulation (EU) 2023/1804 (AFIR); IPMVP; Royal Decree 1027/2007 (RITE).

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of ISO 50001, Directive (EU) 2023/1791 and Royal Decree 56/2016 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:EnergyPlus, PVsyst, Schneider EcoStruxure, RETScreen and Microsoft Power BI, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:an airport energy management plan, from energy diagnosis and baseline to terminal, airside and renewable measures with economic analysis, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
Capstone project

Build it end to end

Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Energy diagnosis and baseline
Diagnose the airport's energy use and set the baseline and indicators.
Terminal and airside measures
Propose efficiency measures for the terminal and the airside.
Renewables and storage
Size renewable generation and storage compatible with operations.
Monitoring and economic analysis
Design the monitoring system and assess the economics of each measure.
Final project
Present the energy management plan with its roadmap, reviewed by your tutor.
