Diploma in Asset Management and Bridge Maintenance
Online postgraduate diploma of 800 hours in bridge asset management and maintenance, structured in 8 modules covering infrastructure asset management under ISO 55000, bridge inspection, defects and deterioration, structural assessment, deterioration modelling and planning, repair and strengthening, and digitalisation, with an assigned technical tutor.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Apply the principles of ISO 55000 to bridge networks.
Plan and carry out inspections in line with official guidelines.
Diagnose the most common bridge defects.
Assess the capacity of existing structures.
Model deterioration and optimise intervention timing.
Select repair and strengthening techniques.
Prepare maintenance and investment plans for a network.

How you'll learn
Training is 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so it can be combined with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is ArcGIS Pro, Bentley AssetWise, Midas Civil and Power BI, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practical work is based on real procedures: principal inspections of bridges and culverts, multi-year maintenance plans and structural assessment of existing bridges. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.
Standards covered: ISO 55001, ISO 55000, ISO 13822, EN 1504, Spanish State Road Network guide for principal inspections of bridges, ISO 15686-5, ISO 12944, EN 1990
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
