Course in PV-Wind-BESS Hybridisation
Online course of 300 hours in PV-wind-BESS hybridisation. 6 modules covering the hybridisation of existing plants, opportunity assessment, technical integration, business models, economic appraisal and risk, with an assigned technical tutor.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Apply the Spanish regulatory framework for the hybridisation of installations.
Identify hybridisation opportunities in existing assets.
Quantify the available evacuation capacity and the expected curtailment.
Design the technical integration of the new technology into the existing plant.
Structure commercialisation models and PPAs for hybridised plants.
Assess the profitability and risks of the investment.
Prepare the hybridisation proposal for a real renewable asset.
Who it's for
- Renewable business development engineers working on the growth of existing portfolios.
- Asset portfolio managers looking to extract more value from operating plants.
- Energy regulation analysts dealing with access, connection and hybridisation rules.
- Electrical integration engineers adapting substations and collector systems.
- PPA originators structuring offtake for hybrid plants.
- Project finance analysts appraising hybridisation investments.
- Engineering or science graduates seeking to enter the renewables sector.
What you'll work with
- Royal Decree-Law 23/2020 (energy measures)
- Royal Decree 1183/2020 (grid access and connection)
- CNMC Circular 1/2021 (access and connection methodology)
- Law 24/2013 on the Electricity Sector (Spanish electricity sector law)
- Royal Decree 413/2014 (renewables remuneration regime)
- Directive (EU) 2023/2413 (renewables promotion, RED III)
- Regulation (EU) 2016/631 (grid connection requirements for generators)
- PVsyst
- WindPRO
- HOMER Pro
- Python (pandas)

How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, making it compatible with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original regulations and applied exercises. The working software is PVsyst, WindPRO, HOMER Pro and Python (pandas), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: spare-capacity analysis with SCADA data, adaptation of existing installations and revenue models for hybrid PPAs. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final capstone project.
Standards covered: Royal Decree-Law 23/2020, Royal Decree 1183/2020, CNMC Circular 1/2021, Law 24/2013 on the Electricity Sector, Royal Decree 413/2014, Directive (EU) 2023/2413, Regulation (EU) 2016/631.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
