Course in Offshore Logistics Planning (Helicopters/Barges)
Online course of 300 hours in offshore logistics planning for helicopters and barges. 6 modules covering the offshore supply chain, helicopter transport to CAP 437, vessel and barge transport to GOMO, planning optimisation, safety, regulations and contracts, and an integrated logistics plan, with an assigned technical tutor.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Describe the logistics chain for cargo, personnel and fluids in offshore operations.
Plan helicopter rotations in line with aviation safety requirements.
Schedule vessel and barge voyages according to weather windows.
Apply optimisation and simulation models to offshore logistics.
Manage transport contracts, insurance and suppliers.
Integrate GOMO and dangerous goods requirements into operations.
Draw up an integrated logistics plan for a set of installations.

How you'll learn
A 100% online programme on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so you can combine it with your job.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Python (OR-Tools), AnyLogic, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Power BI, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practical work is based on real procedures for integrated planning of flights and supply voyages, route optimisation for support vessels and risk assessment of lifting operations. Assessment is continuous by module plus the final capstone project.
Standards covered: GOMO, CAP 437, Regulation (EU) No 965/2012, DNV-ST-E271, EN 12079, the IMDG Code and BIMCO SUPPLYTIME 2017.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
