How you'll learn
The course is taught 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so you can combine it with your job.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standards and applied exercises. The working software is DIALux evo, Rhinoceros 3D, Autodesk 3ds Max with V-Ray and Fusion 360, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: prototyping a backlit translucent panel, testing the light uniformity of surfaces and developing a hidden front detail. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.
Standards covered: IMO FTP Code, IEC 60092-306, IEC 60598-1, IEC 62471, IEC 60529, EN 12464-1, IEC 62386 (DALI), Directive 2014/90/EU.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
