Postgraduate Diploma in Operational Safety and Internal Traffic Control — studying from Canada

Canada's marine sector includes shipbuilding and naval programmes on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, with yards in Halifax, Saint John and Vancouver. The National Shipbuilding Strategy supports the design and construction of federal vessels. Offshore energy activity is centred on Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia, while recreational boating and sports nautical manufacturing are active in Ontario and British Columbia. Engineers work on hull design, propulsion, marine systems and classification.

Fees for Canada: 1,390 CA$ (Canadian dollar), with instalments and employer sponsorship available.

Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

Fully 100 % online study on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the enrolment period, making it possible to combine study with work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is AnyLogic, Navis N4, AutoCAD, Power BI, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practical cases are based on real procedures for simulating internal traffic flows, quay safety inspections and incident investigation. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrating project.

Accredited laboratories(EN ISO/IEC 17025) with rotor bench, EMC/Lightning pre-compliance, HIL/SIL, vibration/acoustics.
Evidence-focused Master's Thesis:safety case, test plan, compliance dossier and operational limits.
Industry mentoring:lecturers with experience in training, , eVTOL/UAM and flight test.
Flexible format:(hybrid/online), international cohorts and support from SEIUM Career Services.
Ethics and safety:a safety-by-design approach, with cyber-OT, DIH and compliance as its pillars.
