PLM Course in Naval Construction — studying from Canada

Canada's marine sector includes shipbuilding and naval programmes on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, with yards in Halifax, Saint John and Vancouver. The National Shipbuilding Strategy supports the design and construction of federal vessels. Offshore energy activity is centred on Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia, while recreational boating and sports nautical manufacturing are active in Ontario and British Columbia. Engineers work on hull design, propulsion, marine systems and classification.

Fees for Canada: 695 CA$ (Canadian dollar), with instalments and employer sponsorship available.

Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and a dedicated technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the enrolment period, which makes it possible to combine the course with work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE, AVEVA Marine, Cadmatic, ShipConstructor, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures for designing a naval product structure, modelling an engineering change workflow, and defining interfaces between PLM, ERP and MES. Assessment is continuous by module plus the final integrating project.

Accredited laboratories(EN ISO/IEC 17025) with a rotor test rig, EMC/Lightning pre-compliance, HIL/SIL, vibration/acoustics.
Evidence-driven final project:safety case, test plan, compliance dossier and operational limits.
Industry mentoring:lecturers with experience in training, , eVTOL/UAM and flight test.
Flexible format(hybrid/online), international cohorts and support from SEIUM Career Services.
Ethics and safety:safety-by-design approach, OT cybersecurity, DIH and compliance as pillars.
