Diploma in Technical Storytelling and Dashboard Design — studying from Australia

Data, artificial intelligence and simulation are central to Australian industries including mining, banking, health, agriculture and government. Organisations use machine learning, digital twins and advanced analytics to improve productivity, asset performance and decision making. National science agency CSIRO, along with universities and a growing start-up ecosystem, drives research and applied innovation. Australia has also developed national AI ethics principles, making responsible design an important professional consideration. Engineers in this area typically work for technology firms, consultancies, research organisations and large enterprises.

Fees for Australia: A$2,850 (AUD), with instalments and employer sponsorship available.

Relevant bodies in Australia

Typical roles

  • Data Scientist
  • Machine Learning Engineer
  • Simulation Engineer
  • Analytics Engineer

Questions from Australia

Which Australian bodies recognise data and AI engineering skills?

Engineers Australia and the Australian Computer Society (ACS) are the main professional bodies, and the ACS runs a skills assessment for migration purposes. SEIUM's private qualifications are not accredited by either. Whether a private qualification is valued is decided by the employer or the relevant body.

What data and AI careers exist in Australia for this training?

Australia has demand for data scientists, AI engineers and simulation analysts across finance, health, mining, government and technology firms. Employers mainly assess your portfolio, technical skills and results. A SEIUM qualification may support your profile, but each employer decides its relevance.

Can I study this online from Australia while working?

Yes, the programmes are fully online and taught in English, and no student visa is needed to study from home. Specialist courses are 300 hours, postgraduate diplomas 800 and master's 1,900, with an assigned technical tutor and a final project. Fees can be paid in instalments, and employer sponsorship may be possible.

Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so it can be combined with work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Power BI, Tableau, Figma, Plotly Dash and Apache Superset, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Real procedures are studied: redesigning existing charts and dashboards, usability and accessibility testing with users, and presenting results to decision committees. Assessment is continuous by module plus the final integrative project.

Standards covered: W3C WCAG 2.2, EN 301 549, ISO 9241-210:2019, ISO 9241-11:2018, ISO 9241-112:2017, Royal Decree 1112/2018.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of WCAG 2.2, EN 301 549 and ISO 9241-210 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Power BI, Tableau, Figma, Plotly Dash and Apache Superset, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:a narrative dashboard built for a real audience and decision, tested for usability and accessibility and presented in an executive briefing, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
