How you'll learn

Training is 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so you can combine it with your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Python with statsmodels, R with the forecast package, Prophet, OAG Schedules Analyser and Cirium, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: monthly passenger forecasting with SARIMA, a gravity model of demand between cities and comparing machine learning models for traffic. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final integrating project.

Standards covered: ICAO Doc 8991 Manual on Air Traffic Forecasting; Regulation (EEC) 95/93 on the allocation of slots; IATA Worldwide Airport Slot Guidelines (WASG); Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/317 on performance and charging; ICAO Doc 9184 Airport Planning Manual; Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/123 on the Network Manager.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of ICAO Doc 8991, Regulation (EEC) 95/93 and the IATA Worldwide Airport Slot Guidelines applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Python with statsmodels, R with the forecast package, Prophet, OAG Schedules Analyser and Cirium, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:a traffic demand forecast for a real airport, from data cleaning and model selection to scenarios and infrastructure implications, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
Capstone project

Build it end to end

Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Data preparation
Collect, clean and explore the traffic series of the case study.
Model selection
Select candidate time-series, econometric and machine learning models.
Validation
Validate the models and compare their errors.
Scenarios and forecast
Build scenarios and produce the final forecast with intervals.
Final project
Present the demand forecast and its implications for infrastructure, reviewed by your tutor.

A SEIUM Institute certificate, awarded on passing the continuous assessment and the final project. It is SEIUM's own qualification, not an official state degree; its recognition depends on the programme completed and the regulations of each country.

Yes. Modules passed are recognised in a higher programme in the same area (postgraduate diploma or master's). Ask about the recognition policy when you enrol.

No prior qualification is required; you need an internet connection, a computer capable of running the programme software and English sufficient to read technical standards.

Start dates are set by SEIUM's faculty for each intake. Our admissions team will confirm the next available date when you apply.
